OK, I know I haven't yet posted that another piece I was painting and posted the WIP of it like million years ago, but this is a belated birthday gift for my darling friend - Hel, dear, I hope you like it at least a bit.
Wow! This is absolutely incredible! Did you do the awesome icicles by yourself too? I absolutely love everything here, the colours, the perspective, and Loki! Oh, goodness, where to start, he's just fantastic, I love the expression on his face, wistful and longing, gah! I love the whole picture
Oooh....hmmm you know I'd have to guess he's be normal body temperature when he's looking human, cause otherwise he would've guessed he was a Frost Giant before, right? But I bet when he turns blue he's all nice and cold I'm glad I'm not the only one who wonders how warm his yummy skin is though
Oh I think she'll like it a little more then just "a bit""! D8
So beautiful! Truly! He looks so thoughtful and sad, I feel like we're spying in on some deep and emotional moment for Loki (although, when it comes to him, that's basically like all the time I guess lol). I love that you have him re-visiting the land of his birth too, it adds even more weight to his expression and body language. We don't have to know exactly what's going on here to understand it.
Also, just visually speaking, I love the contrast of his dark figure against the soft white and blues of the ice, and the way you've painted it almost makes it look like he's emerging from the darkness, as though he could easily slip back and become invisible. Stealthy and masterfully elusive even where he doesn't seem to belong... so Loki.
Is it obvious how much I adore this piece yet? lol Really, it has to be one of my favs from you yet. Goodness, you're on such a roll! lol Thanks you for sharing all the Loki love, I applaud you.
OMG you're the best. Such comments are just... I mean, what do I reply to that? All I can do, is giggle like a schoolgirl and feel happy and proud. You make me like my work better than before, you know, I'm quite insecure when it comes to my art. So, thank you! It's amazing to read what others see in the painting, especially when I realize that I've managed to transmit the emotion/feeling/vibe/story/whatever clearly enough.
Omg, srysly?? Don't be silly, you do such beautiful work! ^o^
Oh I know! I've always loved how art is open to interpretation, and that sometimes people may see things in a piece that even the artist may not have originally intend for. Even if we are all looking at the same image, we often see art from a unique perspective, and each person can take away something different. Being able to share stuff like that with one another instantly and worldwide is the beauty of the internet! I think it's incredible that here you are painting these pictures that give me inspiration and joy, and you could live on the other side of the planet for all I know. lol
But I digress, you do wonderful work. I am always in awe of how much emotion you can capture in you're pieces. You certainly have managed to transmit vibes quite well! lol
